2026 August Drainage Committee Meeting [HYBRID]

2026 August Drainage Committee Meeting [HYBRID]

Wednesday, August 5, 2026 (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Join BayTran’s Drainage Committee on August 5 for a timely discussion with Nathan J. Junius, President of Linfield, Hunter & Junius, Inc., on the engineering and resiliency lessons that emerged from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Junius and his firm played a key role in major post-Katrina flood protection initiatives, including work supporting the IHNC Lake Borgne Surge Barrier, approximately 63 miles of levee design profiling, drainage pump station improvements, floodwall evaluations, shoreline protection, and coastal restoration. Drawing from firsthand experience, he will share insights into the planning, coordination, implementation, and long-term stewardship required to build one of the nation’s most comprehensive flood-risk-reduction systems—and how those lessons can help strengthen communities across the Gulf Coast.
